Today I really worked hard in getting the eight west sock monkeys done.
I have 5 more to go. The order is for 20.
If you are wondering what eight west is. This is a TV show here in my home town.
It is on Monday to Friday on NBC from 11am to 12pm. WOOD TV 8
I was on the show back in November. I started making sock monkeys for their give away.
Viewers just love them. This weekend the Bridal show is on and they are giving away 10 goodie bags and 10 of my sock monkeys are in the bags.
Then next week they are having a Pajama party at Art Vans, this is a ladys only night. They are also giving away more of my sock monkeys. I will be there for the Pajama party.
They are giving away lots of great prices.
Here is the sock monkey that I designed for them.

Quit going through the motions!
What started my passion for making sock monkeys?
About 2 years a go, I lost my job due to lack of work. I have been sewing since I was 4 years old. Well I decided to use the best skill I had, so I tarted making sock monkeys, when they started to sell, I made more sock monkeys, then they were really selling and at that time I had them in my other shop dulces creations, here is my very first sock monkey that I had made and sold.
Very scary looking I will have to say.
When I stated to sell a lot of them, I open up a new shop and this is The monkey shop
Since then I have made so many changes on them that I think I have finally mastered my cute sock monkeys.
So my passion for sewing has made me a great business that I think will be around for a long long time.
Its been 2 years now and I have sold well over 2000 sock monkeys world wide.
You may find them in a boutique in Indiana, Arizona, California and even right here in Grand Rapids MI. I also sell them at the local Artisan Market. They are becoming vary famous, They have been on TV and the Grand Rapids Press. Many children and adults are holding one of my sock monkeys when they go to sleep or just for comfort. Because they are Cute, Adorable, well made, machine washable, and baby safe people love them.
So before you go and buy your next toy at just any place please stop by the Monkey shop to see what is new.

American Idol
OK so its that time of the season, this is the only time I sit in front of the TV to watch anything.
From the start to finish, I love how stupid some people can be, I cant believe some of them actually think they can sing. I wish somebody would tell them before they make idiots of them self on stage. Well so far a fell in love with at least 4 singers. Will see what happens tonight.

Bert the Nerd
So I had a customer ask me is I would make a sock monkey a certain way. I said OK I will try.
So I made the sock monkey that I have always said I would never make because I think they look like a cows. The top Monkey you see is the Nerdy monkey and on the bottom one is the Monkey that I would naturally make.
Well she ended not buying it because mine was to expensive. Oh well.
And she did say, Oh he is Adorable, but she went with a cheaper one.
I hope that this Monkey sell.

Panic Attacks
Have you ever wondered where they come from? I have been having a lot of them lately, they get so bad that I don't even want to eat. I have to push my self to eat. I am finding out tho, that I get them when I don't have enough money to pay for my bills. I am the type of person that likes to have all the money in the bank for the next months bills. If I notice that I already don't have enough money at the beginning of the month I start to worry. I make my sock monkeys to pay for my bills. I just wish my sales were more often not just on the holidays. I a not sure where to advertise anymore. I use my face book, twitter, and the forum on etsy. If anyone out there can give me any pointer on advertising please let me know. If you can just send my link to my shop to all of your friends, that would help me a lot.
