Handcranked socks

I have a friend that makes some incredible socks. I decided to give it try and make a sock monkey out of a pair of their socks. Well this is what I came up with, This sock monkey will go home to be with this wonderful family that makes this wonderful socks.









Let me tell you a little about them....
Almost all of the wool items in their shop are from their own sheep. Buy it straight from the shepherd!
The family lives on a small family farm, where they raise sheep and make things, including items made with their wool. Mike has been spinning wool for a couple of years, and has just started with his new love--the circular sock knitting machine. Lona has been crocheting all her life (since age 8) and weaving rugs for 10-15 years. The kids help with making the cards and cat toys, as well as tagging items and marketing.

Buying from them will help a small family farm remain sustainable. :-)

hand crafted wool rug

Ok this will be a work in progress, I am making a wool rug all out of old wool sweaters that have been felted. I have cut lots of strip to make this. each large circle takes about 45 minutes to make. So its very time consuming. So far this is what I have done.
This rug will measure 3 feet by 2 feet and it will have lots of uses. It can be a decorative rug, a wall art, and table protector.
You will be able to hand wash this great master piece, and lay flat to dry.

This master piece will probably sell for at least, $200 by the time I am finished with it.
I am hoping that Donald trump, or Opra will stop by my etsy shop to by it,
or even Martha Stewart.
